KGGV - EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with LESTER CHAMBERS AND DAVID AGUILAR
Join us for an in-depth conversation with legendary vocalist Lester Chambers of The Chambers Brothers and acclaimed guitarist David Aguilar. We explore Lester’s journey from gospel roots to the San Francisco psychedelic scene, where The Chambers Brothers broke barriers as the first Black hippies and created timeless anthems like “Time Has Come Today.” David shares stories from a lifetime of playing with icons and talks about his recent collaborations with Lester. Together, they reflect on music, legacy, and the upcoming Sweetwater Music Hall benefit for the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. A powerful blend of history, heart, and soul straight from two masters of their craft.
Come dance the night away for a great cause with Lester Chambers & The Mud Stompers at The Sweetwater in Mill Valley, CA. Dylan Chambers & The Midnight Transit will be also joining the lineup for what will be a stellar night of rock music.
Proceeds from the show will benefit Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, who provide services and financial assistance for career musicians and music industry professionals. Founded in 1994 as a 501-C3 non-profit, Sweet Relief has helped countless members of the music community who are struggling to make ends meet while facing physical or mental health issues, disability, or age-related problems.
Aric Steinberg, Executive Director at Sweet Relief Musicians Fund adds “It’s an honor to be the beneficiary of this amazing show! The legendary Lester Chambers and his stellar band, it will certainly be a night to remember. We’re also looking forward to seeing his son Dylan open the show, he’s honed his chops playing with Moonalice and we can’t wait to see him bring down the house on Friday, August 22nd.”
